OPENING OF SCHOOL YEAR – DIOCESAN SEMINARIES
The Diocese-run San Carlos Seminary College will open SY 2010-2011 this coming July 12, 2010 with a traditional Mass for the Holy Spirit to be presided over the His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal. Details of this opening mass will be announced later. The reason the seminary’s school opening is late is because its facilities had been made available to the nursing board exam reviewers from a nearby university. The endeavor is not only giving the seminary extra income but is also a chance for the seminary fathers to minister to the student nurses who, during nursing board reviews need more spiritual support and guidance. Since the seminary is opening late for this school year it will also end much later than other colleges in order to satisfy the required number of days of classes. (DPD).
CLOSING OF JUBILEE YEAR
His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal will lead the closing ceremonies of the Diamond Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Cebu with a Pontifical Mass at the Cebu Cathedral on April 28, 2010, Wednesday, 40:30 p.m. The prelate will also close the Holy Door until a next jubilee will be celebrated. A cultural presentation will follow at the Cathedral patio for the public. Simultaneous rites will be held in key parishes to ensure maximum participation by the faithful.
